Rhombus & Trapezoid 4/25/19

A rhombus is a parallelogram that has 4 congruent sides and 4 right angles. If a parallelogram is a rhombus , then its diagonals are perpendicular. If a parallelogram is a rhombus , then each diagonal bisects a pair of opposite angles. Parallelograms opposite sides are parallel. If one diagonal of a parallelogram are perpendicular , then the parallelogram is a Rhombus.

A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with only one pair of parallel sides. A isosceles trapezoid is when  the legs of a trapezoid are congruent. If a trapezoid is isosceles , then each pair of base angles are congruent. If a trapezoid has one pair of congruent base angles , then its isosceles trapezoid. A trapezoid is isosceles IFF ( if and only if) its diagonals are congruent. Midsegment of a trapezoid is the segment that connects the midpoints of the legs of the trapezoid.

My Spring Break 4/1/19

So I am about to tell you about my spring break in 2k19 . I didn’t really do anything the first part of the break but I went to the movies on that Saturday with my boyfriend . We went to see “Madea Family Funeral” and let me just tell you it was so boring I end up going to sleep. After, I saw that I went and seen us and when I say that movie was soooo good OMG!! It had me in suspense the whole time but it was so good. I paid over $30 on my two movie tickets and then snacks but I could’ve let my boyfriend pay for it but I’m not like that so I didn’t let him pay for it. New Vision Theatre in Chantilly is so high it is ridiculous. Enough with the movies the other stuff that I did was be on the phone with him and playing fortnite until 11:00. Then I went shopping and got some clothes for the summer. In conclusion, I really had a fun/ boring break because I really didn’t do what I was supposed to be doing. I was supposed to be going on a spring break trip with my group upward bound but they cancelled it at last minute. Down below will be something funny for u to read ;).

Tangents

On 2/20/19 I learned that a Tangent is a line in the same plane as a circle that intersects that circle in just 1 place. The point of Tangency is the point where the line and the circle intersect. A common Tangent  is a line , ray , or segment that is tangent to 2 circles. In a plane , a line is tangent to a circle IFF it is perpendicular to a radius drawn to the point of tangency. If two segments from the same exterior point are tangent to a circle, then they are congruent . When a radius of a circle is drawn to a point of tangency  that radius is perpendicular to the tangent line containing that point of tangency . A Circumscribed polygon is circumscribed about a circle if every side of the polygon is tangent to the circle.

Inscribed Angles

An inscribed angle is and angle formed by two chords in a circle which have a congruent endpoint. If an angle is inscribed in a circle , then the measure of the angle equals 1/2 the measure of its intercepted arc. If two inscribed angles of a circle intercept the same arc or congruent arcs , then the angels are congruent. An inscribed angle of a triangle intercepts a diameter or semi circle iff the angle is an right angle. Any angle inscribed in a semi-circle is a right angle. The intercepted arc for an angle inscribed in a semi-circle is 180 degrees. The inscribed angle is half the measure of its intercepted arc, so 50 * 2 = 100 degrees.

Arcs & Chords 2/1/19

On 1-31-19 I learned that in the same circle or in congruent circle, two minor arcs are congruent Iff ( If and only if ) their corresponding chords are congruent. If a diameter (or radius) of a circle is perpendicular to a chord , then it bisects ( cut in 2 ( or half) ) the chord and its arc . The perpendicular bisector of a chord is a diameter ( or radius ) of a circle. In the same circle or in congruent circles , two chords are congruent iff they are equidistant from the center . The best way to explain what an arc is basically saying that it is part of the circumference of a circle. A chord of a circle is a straight line segment and both endpoints lie on the edge of the circle. If you know your radius from the center of the circle the best way to solve for it is doing Pythagorean Theorem.

Circumference 1/17/19

Circumference: measurement of the outside of the circle. The Circumference formulas are : C= πd or 2πr . The best way to find the circumference  is by multiplying pi by the diameter of the circle . So for example if a circle has a diameter of 7 it would be pi (3.14159265358979) , so it would be π x 7 = 21.991 . The Circumference of a circle would also be considered the distance around the circle. If your doing c=dπ and you don’t know d then you do D= 2r . R is the radius and D is the diameter.

My Winter Break

I really didn’t do anything for my winter break besides play my game all day and be on the phone with my boyfriend . The only times that I really got out the house was to go to church , go get something to eat , or go buy people gifts. I was so happy when I got my ps4 because I been wanting to play this game called “Fortnite” for the longest and I can finally play it . I spent day and night trying to figure out how to play the game and now im very good at building and shooting people but I’m not a “master” as they call it. I love New Year’s because that’s when we drink the Sparkling Cider and it be so gooooooooddddd lol. and I stayed up to about 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning on the phone . I got a lot of stuff for Christmas such as : Clothes , Apple Watch , Shoes , A game , Money , Money , Money , and then more money. I can admit I really enjoyed my break bud I got bored at some points of time.
